History

Bernard Gelfond Efron was born November 22, 1902 in Russia. His family arrived in New York in 1910 and moved at some point to Baltimore, Maryland; Tulane University’s College of Medicine entry in the 1926 yearbook lists Efron as being from Baltimore. He seems to have graduated from Tulane University College of Medicine in 1926 and then stayed in New Orleans. He died on February 16, 1960, and is buried at the Garden of Memories in Metairie, Louisiana. (Looks as thought he may have been in the Army during World War II.)
