This tape is an interview with Doctor Durham. Within the video, he discusses his childhood, early years of medical school, and his relationship with his parents. He talks about watching his father performing surgery as well as attending medical home visits with him. Moreover, he discusses his early marriage and his lack of relationship with his "no-good" grandmother.

This tape is an interview with Doctor Durham. Within this tape, he discusses Medicaid and Medicare, the relationships between doctors and patients, and his time in the Korean War. He states that the relationship between doctors and patients is on a decline and should be fixed because it would eventually rot the medical field. Technology progression has not helped matter as well between the two. As well he discusses organizational medicine.

She talks briefly about the personal impact of Chernobyl and the impact to the surrounding area. She also talks about her work surrounding radiation due to the Chernobyl disaster and the RadEFX website which aims to assist those impacted by radiation.

In Their Shoes is a short film by Jamie O’Roark and the Mental Health Needs Council of Harris County describing mental illness and talking about mental health services in Harris County for adults and children. There are first hand accounts of various mental illnesses and physicians giving descriptions of illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depressive disorders. The film notes that mental illness is common and that stigma plays a role in keeping mental health needs unmet. The film gives various statistics on the number of people waiting for mental health services in Harris County as well as the number of people in jail or juvenile facilities who need mental health services. The film ends talking about the need to prioritize funding for mental health services in Texas.

"In Their Shoes" was produced in 1997 by The Mental Health Needs Council. Spencer Bayles MD provided psychiatric expertise for "In Their Shoes" and the other video on this channel, "Help Wanted."

Series I: Lela Smith Hickey Collection

This series contains 31 photographs taken or collected by Lela Smith Hickey while she was a nursing student at Memorial Hospital (Baptist Sanitarium) in 1932. She or her family donated the collection to Memorial Hospital sometime before 1979. Photographs depict nurses, nursing students, hosptial staff, physicians, and facilites of Memorial Hospital in 1932. inventory provides descriptive information and year for each item with the quantity of photographs (in square brackets, [ ]).
