Biographical history
The Doctors' Club began in 1954 as a social club for doctors and dentists and their families at The Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The Doctor's Club also hosted medical lectures and various medical groups. The Doctor's Club closed in 2005.

Scope and content
The Doctor's Club records (IC 031) is 8 cubic feet and consists of 2 documents boxes and 2 oversize boxes and 14 artifacts. It contains a club profile, brochures, correspondence, programs and newsletters (Memos) from the years 1954 to 2002. In addition, the collection includes several past presidents' and club members' photographs, a photograph scrapboook and several scuptures by Robert Portus, a metal fabricator and artist from Grants Pass, OR (ObitTree. - Processing information: The collection was arranged in four groups, primarily according to type of materials: Newsletters, Organizaitonal records, Oversize Materials, and Sculptures by Robert Portus. Oversize materials were housed in appropriate sized boxes. Oversize box numbers were assigned and placed in Oversize Section. Portraits of past Doctor's Club presidents were removed from frames and placed in an oversize box. Sculputres by Robert Portus were wrapped in Tyvek, placed in boxes, and inventoried into the Garments Artifacts and Framed (GAF) Section.
