SCAMeL records by topic, transferred from office folders

This series contains records of the South Central Academic Medical Libraries Consortium (SCAMeL) from 1991-2013, with the bulk dating 1981-2004. Many of the records relate to or appear to have been gathered in preparation for semi-annual SCAMeL meetings. Examples of documents included are bylaws, agendas, meeting minutes, budgets, member surveys, correspondence, and reports from various groups. Also present are data and discussion on various library programs such as interlibrary loan supported by the organization or otherwise of interest to members.

Coordination of collections and services across libraries is a theme throughout the collection. A group of records in this second series focuses on the work of the Serials Advisory Committee, Information Resources Committee, and Collection Development Group.

In the early portions of the series, there is discussion of the rationale for creating the organization, as well as its role relative to other entities. The TALON (Texas Arkansas Louisiana Oklahoma New Mexico) Regional Medical Library Program is frequently referenced.

Medical supply delivery to Gaza

Folder contains the trip report for the Israel/Gaza medical supply delivery. It documents the activities of the operation for each day, February 4-15, 1999. Other contents include newspaper clippings related to the delivery.

Materials Donated by Debbie Goldberg, who was the executive director for Texas Hadassah Medical Research Foundation during the time of the peace mission. The series also contains a 2018 conversation with Debbie Goldberg, recounting her experience coordinating the medical supply delivery in 1999.
