The Texas Medical Center records include TMC charter material, correspondence, committee minutes, interviews and transcripts, photographs and slides, budgetary information, newspapers and clippings, research material for books, surveys, materials related to TMC events and visitors, films and audiocassettes, brochures, architectural renderings, guidebooks and directories, and maps. The materials date from the 1900s to the present. The collection also includes the papers of Mary Schiflett who held leadership positions in the TMC from 1970-2009. The collection has been processed at box and folder level. The material is generally in good condition and consists of 39 cubic feet totaling 93 boxes.

Series I: Mary Schiflett papers,
This series contains materials from the office of Mary Schiflett, who held leadership positions of Associate Director and Vice President of Public Affairs in the Texas Medical Center in the 1980s and 1990s. Materials include administrative records; committee minutes; public relations material and condensed information on TMC member institutions; correspondence; photographs; TMC budgets, surveys, and logistical information; interviews; TMC history; news items; and information on TMC events.
Series II: Texas Medical Center News,
This series contains issues of the TMC News and TMC Pulse publications and news items from non-TMC sources.
Series III: Historical materials,
This series contains materials related to the history and origins of the Texas Medical Center. Materials include charter, board of directors’ records, administrative records, TMC Hamilton hospital study, correspondence, construction records, brochures, printed materials, maps, annual reports, news items, and event materials.
Series IV: TMC administrative records,
This series contains administrative records, committee meeting minutes, and financial documents.
This series contains photographic materials that document the development of the Texas Medical Center and the growth of its member institutions. A significant portion of the series covers the 2006 photo contest and images of outdoor art installations.
Series VI: Audiovisual materials,
This series contains audiovisual materials that depict the Texas Medical Center throughout its history. Some productions are promotional videos highlighting TMC institutions and facilities. Materials include reel-to-reel audio, audio cassettes, video, and film.

This series contains photographs, certificates, blueprints, and maps stored in the oversize sections.
