This series consists of biographical files, subject files, article files, and oversize that document developments, events, issues, news, and personalities in medicine from 1955-1988. Many of the images were used in issues of the Medical World News. There are reproduced photographs in the biographical files and subjects files that pre-date the publication with content as early as 1904. These images were mostly provided by other agencies to illustrate an article or medical news item. Images dated before 1960 are assumed to be reproductions. Biographical files are organized in alphabetical order by name. Subject files are organized in alphabetical order by subject term. Article files are organized in numerical order by the article number assigned by the publisher, which is generally chronological order. Oversize materials are organized by article number with unnumbered items at the end. The inventory provides subject or article title, photographer (if available), year or issue date. The series totals 255 boxes and 8 oversized boxes and equals 133.5 cubic feet.

Scope and Content Note: This series is about Clinicopathologic Conference (CPC). CPC is the well established abbreviation for Clinicopathological Conference. However, it also can stand for the process of clinicopathological correlation. The CPC conference is a time-honored interdepartmental and interdisciplinary approach in which a patient’s clinical findings and course are presented, followed by a discussion usually focused on the differential diagnosis by a knowledgeable clinician, followed by the presentation of the pathological findings by a pathologist, culminating in a general discussion. The goal is to provide increased understanding of diseases by correlation of clinical and pathological findings. There are no transcripts of these recordings. Each box is arranged by the video dates. The time frame for each box is the only description given.

Cover artwork from the journal, called the Texana Collection, had been diplayed in several exhibits around Houston, Texas, including Town Hall of Foley's Department Store downtown in 1970 during the 10th International Cancer Congress, and at the Houston Academy of Medicine - Texas Medical Center Library in 1977. The The cover artworks are generally paintings and depict historic medical figures or events based in the state of Texas. Artwork that was painted on canvas has been placed in separate boxes.
